Background

Ann Tuszynski graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972 with her Master of Social Work (MSW), beginning a career that would span more than five decades. She has been practicing clinical social work continuously since graduation, earning her professional certification when it was first established in 1994.

In 1985, Ann co-founded Coastal Counseling with her partner Diana Adelizzi, building a practice known for its compassionate, client-centered approach. For twenty years, Coastal Counseling served the community before Ann stepped away from active practice in 2005.

Now, after more than two decades, Ann is reopening Coastal Counseling as a solo private practice. She brings the same warmth, depth of experience, and unwavering commitment to her clients that defined the original practice — along with the perspective that only a lifetime of dedicated service can provide.

The Coastal Counseling Story

Coastal Counseling was born from a shared vision between Ann Tuszynski and Diana Adelizzi — two clinicians who believed that effective therapy begins with genuine human connection. Founded in 1985, the practice quickly became a trusted resource in the community.

The name "Coastal Counseling" reflects both the geographic roots of the practice and the philosophy behind it: like the coast, therapy is a place where two worlds meet, where solid ground and open water come together to create something dynamic and healing.

As Ann reopens the practice, that founding philosophy remains unchanged. Every client deserves to be heard, understood, and supported on their own terms.
